Automatic Weatherstation
Daily weather data (NB hourly data is available by contacting Assoc Prof Mike Liddell directly)

- Weather data collected using an automatic weatherstation (Weathermaster 2000 model, Environdata, Australia) located on site at 706m ASL near the edge of the forest. Station height: 2.0m; surface type: mostly covered by grass.
- Rainfall was recorded using a tipping bucket rainguage (accuracy 2%, resolution 0.2 mm), temperature was recorded using a semiconductor sensor (accuracy 0.2 °C, resolution 0.1 °C), relative humidity using an electronic capacitance sensor (accuracy 4%, resolution 0.1%). Wind speed was recorded using a 3 cup anemometer (resolution 0.1 kph, threshold 1 kph), wind direction was measured using a Hall effect sensor (resolution 2°, accuracy 2°). Global incoming radiation was measured with a pyranometer using cosine correction (accuracy 3%). When sensor failure occurred gap filling was carried out where possible using data from the local Ozflux station (from 2012) or the co-located CSIRO automatic raingauge – this has been identified in the dataset.
